3.5 inch lift kit rough country
Hey I’m getting a 3.5 inch lift kit on my truck and can’t figure out what size tire I could fit with 18 inch wheels (figured keeping the same stock size rim would be best option and will also get a bigger tire in there). Everything I read says tundras have a high positive offset. Does this mean I can’t do -18 or even +1? Would really like to fit 305/70r18 with -18 offset or +1 offset and trimming is okay as I plan to do bumper replacement in near future. Before the lift measurements in front wheel well is 39 in from ground and back is 42 in.

thanks guys really could use some advice

also new to this forum so if I’m not doing somthing right please let me know and it’s a 2014 tundra double cab.

My 2020 is lifted 3.5 to 4 in the front and 2 in the rear. I run 18x9 with +1 offset and 295/70/18 Rudge Grapplers. As far as height, don't measure from the ground. The general rule is from the center of the hub to the bottom of the fender.

Okay cool thanks I had no idea about that. Is your 2020 4wd or 2wd? Mine is 2wd so I know that may change what I get from the 3.5 lift compared to a 4wd.

Ideal offset for Gen2 Tundra is about 40-50mm for maximum tire width without needing a BMC or other modifications. 60mm stock is too close to the UCA for wider tires. Below 25mm makes the pivot point far away and you rub more and more. Every offset “works” with certain parameters/modifications.
