Haven't seen a thread on the VersaTrax OneTrax for our trucks. Found these while looking for a solution to add tie downs to my bed bolts and thought they looked really cool. I doubt they are any better than the current method of modifying the bed bolt washers to fit the D ring tie downs, but I liked the idea of these a little better. I ended up ordering 6 to replace all the bed bolts. I like that the anchors come out and leave a smooth puck. The puck is not quite flush with the bed, but close enough for my uses.

We dry camp and boondock quite a bit with our Escape trailer. I routinely carry an extra 20 gallons of water when camping as we tend to be far away from any potable water sources. Strapping them to the stock tie downs in the front of the bed worked out okay, however there's a lot of flex in those when pulled tight with a ratchet strap. Zero flex on the OneTrax and the cans are not moving at all.

In this photo I have my compressor kit and 10 gallons of water strapped in. This is what I keep with me pretty much all summer. I used the OneTrax to tightly strap the water cans down. The strap going to the factory anchors is only tight enough to keep things from sliding, but not so tight it's flexing the bed. So far I'm pleased with this setup.

Install was pretty easy. All that you really need to do this is a breaker bar, ratchet, torque wrench, and a T55 bit. VersaTrax ships a TP50 bit for use with their bolts, but a T50 bit will work if you need to use one for some reason. If you're dealing with a factory bed liner applied over the bolts, you'll need a dental pick (or similar tool) and a box knife. Removing the bed liner from the bolts is easy. Cut around the washer with a box knife at an angle. Cut a square in the center of the bolt. Take the T55 and tap it in with a hammer to loosen the bed liner. Pick the Torx bolt clean and remove it. VersaTrax's instructions were really good.
