I did my 24 at 1,000 miles and will do it at 5k, and every 5k there after. I saved all receipts, and a 100ml of the oil in a sample bottle. What production dates are part of the recall?

Not all within the dates are included. Need to check your VIN on Toyota.com or the NHTSA website.

If Toyota made the pistons from pot metal we wouldn't have to do that.

Those dealer oil changes come with filter housing torqued to 29 ugga duggas using impact wrench.

This is a pick your poison scenario. Dont change due to the type of oil used for break-in or change it hoping to rid as much break-in debris as possible. I chose to dump it since I put a quality oil back in. I am using Amsoil on this truck, and thats it.

Just took my truck in to dealer with exactly 1,800 and paid $122 out of pocket for the early oil and filter change.

I asked them to pull a sample and they filled a water bottle for me. The oil is totally black, as dark as I’ve ever seen in my many years of DIY on old trucks. Was surprised it was completely black at only 1,800 miles. 1320 of those miles were the first weekend, highway miles. This 0-20 oil is thin like water too.

With these failures I would change it early but as mentioned wait a moment on the first change. I am doing mine at 3,000 and will do them at 5,000 after. This is in an LX600 but same principle. Will open the filter and send a sample to blackstone, its a big investment and I want to start modding it.

Which Fumoto work on this engine?

No need to change oil at all.

The engine is to be changed out every 10000 miles.

Consider just changing the filter and cut it open.

    Nitrogen filled tires!
I got the F133N. N is the longer nipple one and it does not extend down enough to be damaged. Box wrench to install and don't over torque it - snug with a little slow tightening and remove the oem washer as the Fumoto comes with a new one - keep the oil pan bolt in your glove box for future use just in case.

I had my oil filter from when I changed the oil a few weeks ago at 15,000, had it draining in an oil recover pan. After the news !!! I figured let me look in it..TRD PRO built 08/08 2023. Happy to say I see nothing, hope it stays that way. I'm very happy with the vehicle .
