Hello all. I just bought a 2024 Limited TRD Off Road on Memorial Day weekend. Anytime I google anything about "2024 tundra" most of the results that come back are about the recent recall. Came here to get some clarification and see what others are experiencing. As most of you know these are not cheap trucks, and I'm a little nervous about the purchase.

I had a 2005 SR5, Dbl Cab, Long Bed Tundra, that I swapped for a 2017 tacoma, TRD off road, short bed, to have something better suited for trails in the Sierras. I missed the power of the V8 and the space, but that's about it. Sadly the Tacoma was totaled. Since our family is growing, space became a priority, so I switched back to Tundra.

I love the truck, just a little nervous about this supposed engine debris in the 3rd gen engines. Thinking about doing my first oil change at 1000 miles. What are you 3rd gen guys doing? Should I get an oil sample tested? I'm at 800 miles right now.

Oil change likey won’t prevent the recall issue. Your truck is also not part of the recall. You’re also not likely to have the problem as it affects very few 3rd gen Tundras (although it’s more than we would like to see). Congrats on your new truck, go out and enjoy it.

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! Are ANY '24 Tundras included in the recall? I don't think so.

No, the 2024's are not included in current recall (yet?), but it's the same engine and I saw a few youtube videos that said some 24's have had the same issue. :eek2:
I'm going to get caught up on the forum and see what other 2024 owners are seeing. Thanks for the welcome! See you around.
