Has anyone put a quad in the bed of their 5.5' bed and hauled a camper? I am thinking of buying an extended hitch so that I can hook a 17' camper and haul my small quad to Idaho for a hunt.

Might want to check those payload ratings and combined tongue weight + quad weight + other gear regardless of what others have done. Sounds like you are likely in HD territory.

I thought a set of airbags made all of that possible. Kidding. A 4 wheeler will be 450# or more. So depending on payload, you’ll have that much less available for the tongue weight and people on board. Add another 5-600# tongue weight for a 17’ trailer and you’re pushing it. Could be close on ratings, I suspect you’ll have significant sag in the rear suspension and it will drive poorly. If the numbers work, hook it all up and do a short test drive to check the ride, handling and braking. I’ve put a 4 wheeler in the back of my first gen and towed a 16’ trailer with a side by side on it.

Looking at the numbers it is right on the limit maybe a little heavy. 500# quad, 350# tongue, guys, gear etc. is like 1800 - 1900#. I have the TRD Off road suspension, so not much adjusting going on there.

I doubt you have 1900# of payload. Probably more like 1400-1500# at best

Well the sticker is 1335# so that is way different than I thought. I read 1720 in the specs. That seems so low. 4 dudes and beer will weigh nearly that much. I must be overloading this truck constantly during golf outings...

Honestly though, I had 18 sheets of 32x80 1.25" particle board in it last month and was not on the bumps. Had about 1.5" of clearance. I only had to go 20 miles though. That was nearly 1750# in the bed. Just me in the cab. It looked like those down south reverse lift jobs!!

Trailer toad dolly can take tongue weight off the truck.

I don't know about the specs but that sounds like a good time to me. Pretty sure the truck can handle it
