I’m thinking about purchasing this 2012 Rock Warrior double cab with 160k miles. They’re asking $12,800. They recently came down from $14,800.

Other than the cam towers is their anything else I would be looking for. It is a New Mexico truck so I don’t have to worry about rust. I’m sure a carfax will tell me more.

Of course the first thing that has to go is all the BS chrome!!

Seems like a pretty good price. Maybe it's reduced because it doesn't have a Tomahawk shifter?

The only thing I would definitely check for is rust in the bed. If it has a liner then lift it up to see if it’s covering any bed rust. That’s what I missed when purchasing my 2012. I payed $21,000 about 5 years ago. They are going for around $14,000 now here in Va. overall that truck looks to be a good deal. Good luck.

Went to go look at the truck this morning. Looks like the cam towers or valve covers are leaking. What do you all think? Is 12.8k still a good buy if the cam towers are leaking?

The truck did drive strong with no issues.

Looks like timing cover and cam tower to me… could possibly be just the valve cover gasket but someone else with more knowledge may know that. Your getting it for 5k less than what’s it’s worth - but if you got those things repaired you would be atleast 5k into repairs.. I personally bought a tundra and found the cam tower seeping a little. I regret buying it after that a little bit. Maybe one day if it gets bad I will have it addressed.

Research how to fix that issue or take it to a mechanic and get a quote then decide. If it cost less than 5k to fix it I’d say screw it cuz the rest of the truck is pretty darn good
