    Hello

New member here, wanted to pick some peoples brains after getting an alignment done. I installed a new LCA with new cam bolts and all my tabs were straight at the time. Upon getting an alignment done the shop told me most the tabs are flattened but its not a big deal since the friction is what holds in in place. At the time I didn't think much on it as I had to get a bunch of stuff done but afterwards went an had a look and they full on flattened a bunch of the tabs and torqued the bolts so hard that the cam washers had twisted in place damaging them. Im not super happy about this as I just spent good money putting the new parts on and now I'm concerned the truck will come out of alignment and strand me as i have to do a 2000km road trip one way ive attached a pic of the worst one and will take more pictures later, and advise on what I should do about this? I was looking into a tab reinforcement kit but now ill have to replace the bolts again too..will it be safe for the road trip? Just got new tires too so i dont want to mess them up.

Those cams aren't doing anything for you now. Not sure how they did that. It's like the cam slipped off and they just went ahead and tightened it anyway. Why did you replace the bolts anyway? I think the stock bolts are much better.

If it's in spec, it should be ok for this trip, but I'd get the whole thing fixed as soon as you can. Put in better cam tabs and use the stock bolts.

Personally I wouldn’t do a 2000 mile trip with that. One good pothole and it’s going to shift. And your front tires will be toast. Find a welder and get some Total Chaos cam tam gussets.

I replaced the bolts as the stock ones were completely seized requiring the stock arms to be cut off and the dealership that sold me the vehicle mentioned nothing about it, they stated they did an alignment but i was uncertain how they did as on each bolt the cam on one side was oriented up and the other oriented down on all four of them but that dealership is a whole other story as they also safetied the vehicle without the parking break being functional, i spoke to the shop that did it and I guess they had a new guy perform the alignment and he left the vehicle sitting on its own weight and just went to town with a big bar. The cam on the other side of the bolt pictured is roughly 45⁰ rotated from the others side too meaning he destroyed it. I have to leave Saturday so thinking ill get them to tack weld the cams in place on a couple spots keeping a wet rag on the arm where it bolts on just to ensure the bushing doesnt get heat damaged and that should hold them. The plan after is to get total chaos gussets installed. Will probably invest in some new cam bolts too as the moog ones i currently have installed seem a bit soft and the passenger front one is now ruined. Im pretty disappointed that the shop owner literally told me they were flattened but it will be fine though... it was a napa autopro so if they refuse to make this right without charging me I wonder if going up the ladder and complaining will get anything done. Had this trip planned for months and if i have to miss out and waste my only vacation days because they had a summer student do the alignment unsupervised I will certainly be raising hell.
