How long will you keep your Tundra?

With all the mods and $$$$ invested in making your Tundra yours with wheels, tires, suspension components, how long do you plan on keeping your Tundra?

 

Until my needs change enough to make me go through the pain of buying and selling again... I hope, not for several years at least.

As for the mods that are slowly taking place, I'm keeping whatever I take off so that I can revert to stock before I sell it... Then I'll list all the goodies here!

 

I plan on driving it until it falls apart, many many years from now.

to be honest, her car is getting old so she gets the next new one
she is driving a 2006 scion TC. I have tried to convince her to get a new car, but she loves her TC

 

Probably until it falls apart, or its so expensive to fix and maintain its not worth keeping any longer!

That's the million dollar question for me. I typically trade every three years so that's the main reason I haven't gone nuts with suspension upgrades, UCAs, wheels, etc. because you never get that money back on a trade. I really like my '16 (my favorite vehicle!) and may end up keeping it longer than three years. Once I make that call I'll likely start the major upgrades.

 

Let’s see... I kept a 4Runner for 15 years, then my Tacoma for a little over 10 years that I just traded for my Tundra that I plan on keeping for at least 10 years, hopefully more.

I’m 54 years old and have driven Toyota’s for 32 years. Doubt I’ll ever switch brands.

 

I said this about all my cars that I mod but it never happens. After few years, I want something else. I know I have long term commitment problems.

 

I had my Tacoma for 8 years, as long as I don't out grow this one. I see no benefit to upgrading.

Now modifying is hands down in the future.

 

I usually get rid of them at 100K which at the pace I am going will be sometime in early 2019. I will see what is in store for the new generation and decide. I will probably just add leather to my DC this year and drive it as it is.

 

My 2015 pro now has less than 8,000miles. Of over $6,000.00 in mods, non are cosmetic. I'm expecting this to be the last truck I may ever own. At 62 years old, if she lasts 20 years, I probably won't be driving anymore, and if I am, it's not likely to be a truck.

 

My son is already saying this will be his car when he can drive in 6-7 years, so maybe I have to get another one at that point? LOL. NO! He can buy his own damn car!

 

I plan on keeping it for a really long time... My first new car in my life.
but....... if I find a good deal on a 200 series Land cruiser I just might.. Chances of that are pretty slim though.

 

Last vehicle, FJ, I said forever, but lasted about 10 years, 150k miles. This one might stick around and be my sons first car (in 16 years).

I’m sure it’ll be 10 plus year here.

 

Mine will be in the family til the end. Once this motor needs rebuild, ill forge it, maybe stroke it to a 6.0 and supercharge it. I'll be the old guy that rolls up romping at the local car meet and turn heads. Old gas guzzling pre-runner!

 

Not a third gen, so my initial costs were way lower, but I'll probably keep mine a couple more years at the most. I've had it for just over 6 months and already have wandering eye. The longest I've ever owned a vehicle is 3.5 years.

 

I said I was keeping my 16 TRD Pro 4-runner, then the dealership offered me close to what I paid for it after only a yr of ownership. I want to say I am keeping the tundra for at least 3 yrs, but my track record says otherwise, I said I was keeping my 12 rockwarrior and that was 4 trucks and 1 SUV ago

 

1. gas hits $20/gallon
2. the wheels fall off my truck
3. I can trade it in for a flying car

When all 3 happen

With the amount of money I've dumped into this truck, I'll probably keep for at least 10 years. I'm sure I'll buy another car that makes a good amount of power and drive the other 50% of the time.

I plan on keeping it till I win the lottery. Then I'll be in my Bugatti as a DD

 

Until the wheels fall off. Then I'll turn it into a sled, and use it some more.

 

I'll keep mine until year two of the updated Tundra...then I'll jump in a new one. At this rate that probably won't be until 2021 or so.
