Apple Car Play Reading Messages

Hello everyone. I know how to turn on/off the feature on CarPlay that will read your messages. I was wondering if there was a setting that would silence your radio as it reads the message like it does when you make a call? I often can't hear the message being read over the radio. Thanks for any help in advance.

 

No setting that I'm aware of. This has been one of my frustrations from day one. You manually have to turn the radio off, or lower the volume, before selecting the text.

 

I don’t know of a way to silence the radio, but text speech and radio volumes are separate. You can turn up the volume of the text speech using your radio knob or steering wheel controls while the text speech is being read. Basically just drown out the stereo. It will keep that volume setting for future text speech.
