Reduced engine Power

Biggest mistake of my life was selling my 2015 limited for this piece of crap, 2023 capstone. I've had nothing but problems with this trash ass truck since I purchased it, I'm done with Toyota. They no longer are superior when it comes to quality and reliability.

Nothing so far, called the dealer, I have to drop it off Saturday for diagnostic, and "leave" it with them for a couple days.

 

Maybe your Dealer is having a good sale and they reduced your engine power so you would not drive recklessly on your way to the Big Sale....

 

Also, I would say if the biggest mistake in your life is selling a truck, then damn, your winning at life .

Well if your Biggest mistake in your life is getting butt hurt that you bought a new truck and it needs a repair, that's absolutely nothing to worry about.

Sorry to hear somethings happened. Could be something simple. Failed sensor can cause it and is easily changed under warranty. Q? What month is your trucks build date? It’s on the door panel sticker. Thx

 

Expect these kind of posts more often. With the price of trucks now, customers should expect perfection.

Unfortunately all the new systems added to overcome the cell phone staring drivers come at a cost of more things to go bad.

If you ever had a lemon vehicle in the past that you didn't get rid of, this kind of thing out of the gate just puts you at unease with the mindset of what else is wrong with this vehicle? Having had 2 POS chrysler products that I kept far too long, I can understand the disappointment.

To the OP, give the dealership a chance to remedy. It could be something simple that when fixed never occurs again. No need to swear off all Toyota products because of this. It's not like they are Stellantis who is known to put out unreliable vehicles across the board.

 

This happened to me a few weeks ago. After the truck sat overnight, there was no check engine light the next morning, and the truck drove fine. I brought it in, and they said the recent transmission recall would fix this issue. However, since I got the transmission recall completed, the truck is shifting funny, but it probably need to relearn my driving style. I am a little nervous about going on long trips with my family.

Ummm... isn't that warning about the auto braking sonar? Isn't it saying don't rely on the safety systems/ radar cruise control untill you take it to dealer? What in the hell would a transmission recall have to do with that?

 

Sorry didn't upload the tran check engine pic, just did. That would be the only reason to believe them.

Other than this incident, I love this truck.

That same warning along with the parking brake malfunction is given with a loose gas cap - go figure

 

Interesting, I’ve never gotten warning notices like that on my IT display

I believe if you go into your settings on the screen there is an option to review notifications or messages. I hope this helps.

 

OP, sorry this happened to you. Honestly, it could happen to any brand truck with as many electronic devices each has in the current tech age.

Some of responses to the OP’s frustration are part of the reason Toyota isn’t going to feel a sense of urgency or responsibility to buyers. A brand new vehicle should come with the red carpet and especially if there is something wrong with it. Toyota is becoming just another tough titty take or leave it brand. Toyota should bend over back ward for the dealership to take care of a customer. Selling my stock in these guys.

 

Name a big company that gives a hoot anymore about any customer. As we all moved to consolidating all our purchases with national brands and big box stores and let the local or regional businesses slide away. Then complain the international with 2B consumers lacks compassion for a single customer .

As others have said give it a day or two and keep in mind these trucks are computers on wheels and this stuff happens. If you're that un happy hop into the big three and don't' be surprised when something like this happens with them too. Is it ok this happens???? no, no it certainly isn't, but its not the end of the world either. That or find your self a shinny 2021...

 

I see the 3rd gen apologist’s are still diligently mocking anyone who dares insinuate the new Tundra just might not be that good of a truck. You guys really don’t have anything better to do?
