Yota's feathers got seriously ruffled. Don't post copyrighted materials here to start with and such. Mods will do a full update soon enough. Prolly best to do it here now too. Ha

Isn't an official recall notice kinda like public record? Toyota is suppressing freedom of information.

    Nitrogen filled tires!
And the thread had more posts not related to the intent than the intent. Off the track and bashing by some looking to continue hate rather than find meaningful information about the situation to share. FWIW - all posts by the OP are gone and if you do a search he longer shows up. Mod's posted explanation on the Official Fail thread with complete disclosure.

This ^^^ and it's kinda hard to know what is legal to post. Yota is making it harder and harder to like and support them

To be clear, I am not blaming the mods for yanking the info.

    lol, no.

Most posts are just poor folk who bought too much truck and are worried about their "investment" and "resell value"...

it's just sad, and nobody cares.

I have purchased more Toyotas than any other brand. I have purchased new and used, some with high mileage on them. No issues at all with them.

Between this and how their dealerships sell with added fees and club member costs that force overpriced nitrogen in the tires & paint protection, I’m leaning against them now.

I’d wager it’s less to do with him posting publicly available information and more so to do with him posting private information like internal pricing for the V35A parts, diagrams that shouldn’t be shared here, and making unofficial documents with Toyota branding to the extent that they could very easily have been believed to come from Toyota themselves.

Good point. Toyota is censoring people for no good reason and now I don’t want to buy from them anymore. They’re awful. I’m gonna go get a Ford.

    Lots of stuff!
Ryan certainly provides a positive outlook on the engine and its longevity, that will be missed (until his return again, I hope). Also a huge wealth of knowledge.

Please let's not start another 300 page Gen 2/Gen 3 bashing thread! (well maybe if you include pictures :) )

Can someone explain the dynamic there? I know he's been banned or self-deleted at least once before. Is he a Toyota engineer or works at a dealership? Does Toyota explicitly request his account gets deleted? Do the mods randomly delete his account at a certain point? Why does his account get reinstated or he's allowed to make a new one? Do him and the mods talk about at what point his account will be removed?

I've never understood how he has seemingly more insight than most into what's happening, and why he's been deleted before but then comes back.

Setting all the chatter aside, I think Toyota has a huge opportunity to prove their reputation stands unchanged in this situation. From a purely mechanical point of view, replacing motors in the recalled vehicles with complete long block engine assemblies including turbos is the only way to guarantee there is no manufacturing debris in the motor. Everything exposed to engine oil MUST be replaced. If they don’t handle it this way the risk of future component failures from a partial short block repair is too high. A short block repair will likely end up with a second round of failures from other components that have metal particles in them. Do the right thing Toyota and you will strengthen your reputation. Your recall was the first step and the right thing to do, now follow through. The headline will read, Toyota stands behind it’s products and gives Tundra owners complete new engine assemblies in there Tundras. What a marketing gold mine that will increase future Tundra sales and capture even greater market share.
