Loving the laid off life. So far, every day this week, I've dragged the kids out on 5-6 mile hikes. Little man wants to go camping this weekend, but may need to push it back to mid-June.

The 1GT has been hauling us all over the place, about to roll over 77,777. Good time of the year for finding wildlife. Some of the danger noodles we found were venomous (two moccasins) so we couldn't really pick 'em up, but we did snap some pics. Today was Sweetwater Creek, we saw all kinds of stuff including an Eastern Box turtle laying eggs. Some pics from the last two days, those are little dude's hands, not mine.

They make them. You just need to weld the magnets to the aluminum. Duh.

Yeah but that's not like a simple magnet like he is referring to. Theres a lot more witch craft involved with paramagnetics

Missed that when I was looking before, since last time I was focused on connections. This time, since I bought a new wiring harness and 7-pin socket, I was looking closer to make sure I understood what I was replacing before getting started.

Yeah but that's an electro magnet. Again not a simple magnet. But yes it is possible with electronics.

Ah yes, classic. Any time a vehicle I buy has a spliced-in harness, I usually rip it out and install it properly. 9 times out of 10 it's done incorrectly with bullshit non-sealed crimps or, even worse, with scotchloks or t-taps

I don't know what's going on but I've seen 3 of those in the last few weeks. I helped two cross the road. A 4th I couldn't save and found it's crushed body. I hate seeing them get run over.

Bolts broke when I removed the spindles, both sides. I think a lot of us are missing those bolts. They're like a vestigial organ.

 

May-June is when they're laying eggs. Note the dig behind them. Totally laying eggs. I bet some other asshole on the trail behind us probably picked the little girl up and moved her, which sucks.
