Just wanted to show a SR Tundra with factory fender flares installed. The SR version does not come with fender flares and do not have the mounting holes for the clips.

It always looked incomplete so I was about to purchase a new set but it was ridiculous for a few pieces of plastic trim (~800 shipped). Seriously insane pricing for a few unpainted fenders lol. I tried rough country sports flares but it looked so funny to me because they’re wide and you need a good lift and offset to make them look normal.

Anyway, found a good deal on Facebook marketplace (only 150!!! Thank you seller! You have an awesome truck) and was able to get these installed following the Tacoma SR fender flare instruction that someone did a while back. You just have to remove the tabs and cut some plastic pieces that stick up and sand it down. Use 3m auto tape and bolt the fenders on. Very easy. Took 10 min per fender.

The black gloss paint matches the sr mustache. 10/10 would recommend.

this looks great. I have a white SR and I agree that it looks weird without them. I just got some flares and mud flaps take-offs. According to the Tacoma instructions, you need some specific hardware. Did you find you needed any special parts, or can I just wing it from AutoZone once I get into the install?

    Thanks for posting this.

update. no hardware needed. you need the 3m tape as referenced in the taco how-to thread and re-use existing screws. Easy install and looks great. Found used flares and mud flaps on ebay for decent price.

How are these holding up since installing? I scored some flares off market place and I'm about to take this on, hopeful the 3m tape works as advertised.

Holding up perfectly. There is so much contact with this install method, they couldn't possibly let go. Might be a little messy if you have to uninstall. But I'm loving this upgrade.

Same here. No issues. I might take them off after the winter and clean them out and see how they faired inside. I’ll post how it looks. It might be useful for owners since they’ll see how dirty they can get inside after 2+ years.

Just wanted to share my success with this. Did it this weekend. It took me all afternoon because I took my time on prep but I couldn't be happier with the results. Even my wife who sometimes thinks I care too much about some things says it was time and money well spent. You don't know how badly the truck seems to be missing something until you add these to it.
