    None at the moment
2011 Crewmax 5.7 235k. Every so often I see 5.7 Tundras on the web with broken valve spring(s) causing a fubar engine with milage from 100 to 300k just the ones I've seen. Anyone know if this was an issue for some year trucks or an anomaly? Does extreme hard use cause this or bad batch of steel springs ? Where I'm headed is at certain mileage should the springs be replaced as PM ??

If it ain't broke don't fix it. I do believe Toyota put out a TSB on the affected vin numbers. Look up your maintenance history and pull the records out of the Toyota site. You can also look at the NHTSA site and look up all TSBs and recalls, I'm at 297k and haven't had an engine issue as of yet, 'knock on wood' just maintenance items like water pump, batteries and other sensors that are starting to go.

Considering how many Tundra’s have been built it’s a pretty rare occurrence ( I am guessing much <1%) from what I have heard when it happens it’s due to faulty parts and not how the owner drives it. You would think if it was due to use it would be happening to supercharged engines

Carcarenut mentioned on one of his vids that it is likely that if you had a bad batch of Valve Springs (usually 07-08 models) the issue would’ve cropped up by now.

I've been a Master tech for Toyota for a little over 15 years now and in that time I have only seen 3 5.7's come in with broken valve springs and all 3 were between 2-300k miles. I wouldn't put too much worry into that extremely low probability that it would happen to you. The 5.7 really is an amazing engine.
