Hey guys, I just got a good deal on a TRD pro fox 2.5 kit and have some questions. It came off a 2021 with 20k miles that I’m going to put on my 2016.

1.) Are there any good installation videos y’all like?

2.) Is it a true 2” in level in the front?

3.) I was thinking about adding .5” coachbuilder shims up front to get it to 2.5. Has anyone done that? (Pics?)

4.) If so, would you guys also recommend I buy some shackles for the rear if I want to maintain a level?

5.) I bought a new 6112 kit that I’m going to return and KYB top hats. Should I keep those top hats for this lift?

6.) Additionally for an install video, are there any that add shims/shackles?

    thanks y’all!

    2) there is always some variation from Tundra to Tundra but yes it should be 2" or close to it

    3) lots of folks have done the couchbuilder shims, should be fine with the Pro shocks.

    4) the added 2" to the front should level the truck, if you add the .5" shims, you will probably be a little nose high. So just depends what you want

    5) are your Pro shocks assembled? If yes, no reason to keep the top hats.

    6) shims just slip over the top of the coilovers before you slide them in to the upper mounting bracket. So no videos on that. Tons of shackle videos, just YouTube for that if you go that route

So helpful! Thank you for all the information. Sounds like the shims/shackles should be an easy install. And to answer, the pros are assembled so I can get some money back on those top hats. Much appreciated!

I gained exactly 1.5" when I added the Fox Trd Pro shocks. The truck looked level, but I had about 1/2" rake on the passenger side, and slightly above 1/4" on the driver side.
After a few months, I added the Coachbuilder TRD Pro shim for 1" of gain in the front, and the Coachbuilder +3 shackles for a supposed 1.75" lift in the rear. I also added Dirt King/Bilstein UCA'S. I should have about 1.25" of rake now.

    As it sits now-

With just the TRD Pro shocks-

Good looking rig man. I’d be happy to go with more lift but I only have so much height at the parking garage for work. Do you have an idea of how high your truck sits?

I don't, but it fits in my 7ft garage just fine. And, I have the shark fin antenna. Also on basically 36" tires.

Honestly, I would kind of like to only be 2" in the front and about 1-1.25" in the rear. But, oh well.
