this is just how I planned it. I don't have twigs to pick up or leaves to rake.

 

No shade or shelter from the wind either.

 

But we get good sun tans. Lol

Bermuda would happily take-over your lawn without much encouragement! Seriously, it might be the easiest to establish and maintain in our area...loves the heat and the sun!

 

Backyard is looking pretty good so far this year, trying to get my mowing pattern dialed in. We used to live on the side of a mountain so this is our first flat yard with a lawn but I’m pretty happy to have this going on right now

Shits been growing 6”+ a week with all the rain we’ve been getting

 

My father in law had a procedure so he was unable to mow for a few weeks. I've been dying for the chance to stripe his yard. To say everyone turns as they pass to check out the stripes is an understatement.

 

And I always stripe my parents when I visit.

 

Here's how I lay the stripes down at my place.

 

I'm so embarrassed this year. Moles have wrecked the yard and now drought. We haven't had a decent rain in weeks and triple digits several days just cooking stuff. I got to change up and get this St. Augustine creeping across the yard, I got several good patches well established, just need to get it to creep over the rest of the yard.

 

I feel ya. Last year we had a bad drought. Now, it's sprouting up so much I'm cutting every 5 days or so. I'll welcome the rain though. Better than not

 

I hit my front yard with a jug of def last night prior to a rain. I’m hoping get some more green to the grass. Anyone here try def for nitrogen boost?
I’m anticipating the results.

 

Fair enough. I have been fertilizing and over seeding spring and fall for 3 years now without any change. My current front yard is basically sand without any top soil, so that my biggest issue. One day, I’ll top soil it proper. It’s also fair size, and the bottom of my priority list as we also grow pasture land for our horses. Figured I would give it a go as it was cheap and quick to apply with the tractor boom sprayer. I’ll post results.

 

Define "Jug of Def" please.

 

I think it’s the DEF fluid for modern diesel engines.
