My 2015 Chevy Colorado L4 died on the highway, needs a new engine, so I got this instead.

I've noticed there is a tailgate rattle, is this normal? Anytime I got over some bumps in the road and I have the rear window down, I can hear the tailgate rattle quite a bit. When I get out and mess with it while parked, I can't get it to make the noise. Noise must be coming from inside the tailgate?

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! Another 3rd Gen owner will have to comment on the bed rattle. You can also ask about it in the 3rd Gen forum.

It might be the spare tire chain that you hear. Wrap a bit of painters tape or something around it and see if you still get the rattle.

I found some earlier posts on here that talk about the tailgate rattle, it's apparently coming from the hinge which it sits on the right side where the tailgate can slide off. Some guy just put a bicycle tube around it and I think that's a brilliantly easy solution. Gonna give it a try tonight.

Interesting. I have never heard of that one.
I had the spare chain rattle when I drive around on construction sites. I slipped a shirt piece of pool noodle over it and it is now quiet. I tried tape just to confirm what it is, but didn't want it to bind up when I lower the spare.
I hope you find your rattle.
