For those of you running the Toytec 2.5/2.0 Aluma Fronts with the IFP rears, what kind of lifespan have you gotten out of them? Has anyone rebuilt them? I've got a rear shock that seemed to be every so slightly losing oil, starting at about 20k, and now that I've upgraded to U748s out back I'm noticeably underdamped in the rear as I get close to 30k.

I've definitely drove the crap out of these things (we've all woken up late during Turkey season and had to race 60mph down gameland roads to get to our spot, right?) so I'll give Toytec the benefit of the doubt when it comes how they probably intended 2.0s to be used on a 6600lb truck.

I'm likely going to upgrade the rears to ADS piggybacks, but would like to stretch the front set-up out for as long as possible as it served me reasonably well. I'm east coast guy so I just have limited opportunities to use any suspension in the way that the dudes out west do. Just curious to hear the experiences of those who have had them on longer than I have.

I have the Alumas up front and their older style Boss with remote resis in the rear. I have about 50K on them now.

I would bet the majority of people that have them have blown shocks and don't know it. I got the shocks on my UTV rebuilt recently, nothing leaking, to most people probably rode fine, push on it and it wouldn't bounce, but the IFP was totally compromised with fluid on the Schrader side and nitrogen on the oil side.

Rebuilding smooth body shocks is very easy, a seal kit is like $35, then get some oil (hell ATF works if you want to save money). Just need the right tools, which is usually some soft jaws for a vice to clamp the body and whatever specific tool is needed to undo the wiper seal cap.
