I have the trd dual exhaust on my 2016 cm truck and have noticed a helicopter noise some times. Has anyone installed an x-pipe on this exhaust system and if so did it make a difference?

There isn’t enough real estate to fit a proper X pipe with the TRD mufflers. A stamped X pipe will cause a loss of power.

we make a direct bolt on with X pipe and custom muffler sizes. It also includes a pair of Helmholtz resonators to kill the drone. But they can be deleted to save cost is a little drone doesn’t bother you. 760-877-4234

This is true. And an H does help with the ‘helicopter sound’ a little bit.

that said, an X pipe (if properly built) far out performs and H pipe. And be careful with an exhaust shop. Especially if you live in a cold or salty area. They use steel welding wire and aluminized steel tubing. This will rot out very quickly and ruin your muffler section.

Do you use stainless wire on your stainless exhaust system?

We build both aluminized steel and stainless steel systems. Customer choice.

I make my recommendation based on where they live and their budget, plus life expectancy that they want.

When we build a stainless system our tubing and mandrel bends are 304ss. Flanges and hangers are steel. Wire is 308LSI stainless steel.

It is worth noting the guy in the other post sold the H piped TRD to get your exhaust system.
