3M magic eraser (link) will safely take that glue off, don't buy the generics. Look at YouTube if you're a skeptic.

3M Molding Tape to re-apply, trimmed to fit the decal. They make a Super Strength version but that's probably overkill for anything other than trim.

Be sure to buff & polish that spot before reapplying anything. Then wipe with rubbing alcohol.

Chased down a trunk leak in the Civic, it was the seam seal and you couldn't really see it in the trunk channel at all but it was there.

My skid plate decal came in yesterday. I had ordered a bunch of smaller decals as well but apparently the seller didn't feel the need to fill that portion tho .... They did charge me for it tho, so that's a thing.

Decided to try another product for clearing up hazy headlights. Chemical Guys products applied with a random orbital polishing machine. Worked well initially. We'll see how long it lasts. Will update.IMG_0293.jpgBefore.IMG_0294.jpgAfter.IMG_0295.jpg IMG_0296.jpgProducts.IMG_0297.jpgFinished.

It’s atypical. I want to say OEM used foam-like adhesion. My guess is someone had the tailgate off to repaint, or debadged and rebadged it at some point.

Yup had that happen to the trunk of my Camry after Young Thug hammered me. Had to take it back to the dealership to have the body folks rework all the sealer around the perimeter of the trunk. Such a PITA

There's definitely at least 2 types of adhesive on this thing. Something like hot glue, and something rock hard that's still stuck after multiple applications of goo gone. Couldn't find the 3M adhesive remover at the local HD.

Yep, that was my fear:eek2: I've used GooGone before a long time ago and I thought it might be too brutal for automotive paint. I see they make an automotive version. And apparently a lot solvents are pretty safe for a "cured" clear coat.
    Found this:
How do you remove dried construction adhesive?
    Removing adhesive: Chemical approach
One easy method is to use standard cooking oil or oil-based materials. Vegetable or canola oil can work wonders, as can peanut butter or mayonnaise. Spread it on, let it soak into the residue for about an hour, then wipe it away. For a tougher clean, try rubbing alcohol or vodka.

Good luck! Love that paint color!
EDIT: IF it were mine ide try to make a pant pocket with good duct tape and a freezer bag type plastic, fill it, and let it sit overnight. Just spit ballin :notsure:

You want the 3M automotive adhesive tape. It will have the red peel off backing on it. It honestly is the best stuff out there. When my side skirt was coming off of my MKiv GLI, that's what my buddies at the VW dealership told me to use to fix it, as that's what they used to install it. Turns out they just forgot to clean the application area on the skirt with alcohol. Oh yeah clean it 2 or 3 times with alcohol and clean micro fiber no lint cloths before applying the tape. Same goes for the bading itself.

And I got the skid plate in the axle drums and springs deall I made with that guy with the V6 I first met Casey at and then got to "meet" Polo and his "dominance assertion" in the bed of my own truck .... That's a dirty move your doggo pulled Casey, dirrrrteeeee

Oh the complete rear axle, drums, parking brake, skid plate and both leaf packs was 450. Scored a deal on that one
