Infotainment Dead After Update

Have a call in to dealership, but wondering if anyone else has been affected…

radio called for an update this am… after work, radio is dead… screen still works for cameras, just goes black when “normal” radio screen should be on…

 

nice… will be my 3rd head unit if they have to replace it…

 

yep… original unit had a bunch of pixels go out… replaced and this one was fine for nearly 2 years… now this haha…

my 40 min commute is going to blow for the next 2-4+ weeks

 

it was off for about 30 min when I ran into the grocery store… still black… it’ll be off until the morning now, so maybe I’ll get lucky and it’ll reset…

 

Happened to me a couple weeks, maybe couple months ago. Lasted a few days then it went back to normal. Hope the same for you

 

this gives me hope… appt is set for Thursday, hopefully it is a fluke and comes back before then…

 

I actually agree wholeheartedly… I jumped in the truck this morning running late, and without thinking just tapped the screen to get the notification off and CarPlay up…

 

Of it is not broke fix it so it is! Oh wait! That's not right!

 

Well, no luck this morning on it “sorting itself out” over night… What a bummer…

 

hang in there. I just started mine up one morning and then realized it stopped going black. It might just need time to correct itself

 

This happened to me as well a while back. It happened on my 3rd warrantied radio everything worked fine but as soon as you get to low speed camera's interface is just black. I was thinking they messed the wiring during replacement and what not even took it back and they said it's normal and some time later after many resets PVM started working again. I'm at 23k miles and everthing works besides some rattles and transmission has been smooth lately I hope it doesn't relearn again.

If you have a hard time with the dealer and have some time to spare I would disconnect the battery and hold the start button for 2-3 mins. Reconnect the battery and test PVM in ignition on.

I think holding the power button acts like trying to drain a CMOS battery could be wrong.
