I put on some new tires not too long ago and wanted to do the chalk test to get the right pressure.
The door jam says 29 front/32 rear which just “feels” too low to me. But what do I know….
I had them about 35-36 at first.

First run on the rear 36 psi

second run at 32. To me looks a little better

    First run front at 36

Second run at 30 psi. Again looks a little better.

After the second run I figured cool I guess Toyota knows best. And after a drive it is a little smoother. (As a note when I tow or load up I do put more air in. Usually 35 front and 40+ rear)

But as I’m looking at the sidewall bulge on the front it just looks a little low to me.

Also I feel like the photos just don’t look quite as low as in real life. And that’s on flat ground. Earlier I parked and one tire was loaded more than the other and I definitely felt like whoah that’s a little low.
So is my visual tire gauge just out of calibration? Or are these tires maybe a little on the soft side? What do you guys think?

I run my bigg'ns at 30. I like the smooth ride.

Maybe it's the light, but the chalk on your fronts make it look like you have positive camber.

The second test looks better. I'd roll with that.

Hmm I wasn’t looking at it thinking about camber. I’ll do another one when I have the chance and take a picture looking at the tread from the front instead of the side. I think I will leave the psi where it is for now. I do like a smoother ride.
