I can only listen to spotify as long as my truck is not plugged in to the usb port. When connected to the usb port it says "music not found".
I don't have the apple music app on my phone at all. Is there a way to play spotify while it is connected to the USB?

Just a WAG here, but it sounds like the USB is trying to read but not finding "Data", and by having it plugged in the USB is superseding the bluetooth.

Do you have it plugged into the USB just to charge your phone or for other reasons?

I play spotify via BT but I charge my phone with the port in my center console.

If only to charge, you could get a "Charge Only" cable.
