Glitchy CarPlay

    Hi All
    I’m having an issue with my CarPlay. Whenever I use navigation (Google maps or Waze) and make phone call I lose functionality and under screen looks like the photo.
    I can hit home and then clock back into CarPlay and it’ll be installed for 15 seconds then glitch out again.

    Had anyone else seen this?

    Is your iPhone up to date? I’ve had glitches and were often significantly reduced after updating. Also restarting the phone every couple of days. You can reset the head unit by pressing the volume and home button if I remember right.

    Yup on the current iOS.
    I’ve tried the reset on the headunit as well.

    Couple of thoughts...

    First, I don't use either of those apps, so no I've not seen that...

    If those 2 apps are the only ones causing your glitching, have you tried to uninstall them from your phone and then re-install them to see if it makes a difference??

    I had to do this a couple of times when working between iphone, ipad, and macbook projects; frustrating cause you'd think it would be a seamless transition, but this was the recommendation I received a few times from the 'genius' bar folks when troubleshooting...

    Lastly, are you running wired carplay, or are you using a dongle so you have a wireless carplay environment? The reason I ask is that prior to going wireless I had constant connectivity issues w/carplay w/my '21 Pro. Once I went to a wireless dongle, almost all of the connectivity issues have disappeared.

    It's currently on sale for $109 and if you 'check' the coupon box you get another $30 off. I'm not sure if it would help your issues or not, but it's much more convenient than plugging in and I have less problems overall running it.

    Quick update.
    Asked the dealer about this when I dropped my truck off today.

    it seems like this is a known issue that impacts iphones.

    Hoping to have a resolution once I pick up the truck tomorrow.

    Surprised the dealer is offering help on an aftermarket head unit. Figured they would give you the run around

    I guess it is on further inspection of the picture. Initially it looked like some of the aftermarket ones I have seen

    Did you ever find a resolution to this? I have tons of glitches in my carplay with my iphone and it makes navigation with google maps almost unusable

    When i've had this issue, its been more of a phone issue, not a vehicle issue. I used to have this same issue in my '22 Chevy Traverse work car. Switched to a newer iphone and no longer have the issue or if i do it is very rare.

    Yes, last time I took my truck in for service the dealership did some kind of update or reinstall of the software.
    That was about 2 months ago and knock on wood haven’t had any issues since.
