Why do we have 10-15 national days for each day of the year now????

No longer any importance to any holiday or special day cuz they all are

BTW, I proclaim that today is national 'Everyone Can Kiss My Ass and Don't Forget to Tickle the Taint w/Your Tongue Day'

Surely you're not opposed to holidays such as National Cookie Day or National Bacon Day?

 

Everyday is National Cookie Day in my mind.

I couldn't agree with you more.

This is the stupidest thing we've ever created. And who is it that deems what day becomes a national day? It's so dumb and pointless it actually angers me.

On all other points in regard to incorrect word usage, it actually doesn't even bother me. I use it as a filter to determine who I ignore. And judge.

 

The kids got crumbl the other day and I didn't even daddy tax it. It was a rough day.

 

Can anyone help me understand why one would do this. I'm at a loss...

Knew a guy back in the early '90's worked as a golf pro. Trooper found him in his truck, up on the curb, passed out, truck not running but keys in the ignition; does the field sobriety stuff, gives a DWI. Court date comes and his lawyer has the trooper on the stand and asks him one question: Trooper so and so, did you physically Mr. so and so actually driving? Trooper says no, I did not. Lawyer looks at the judge, says no further questions, Judge bangs the gavel, case dismissed.

 

Attention. That's it.

I had a friend and coworker, one of the guys I used to bird hunt with:

This first offense was a DUI. He fell asleep in the Taco Bell drive-thru line.

His second offense was a PI, he left the bar and fell asleep in the driver's seat.
Since the keys weren't in the ignition they didn't give him a DUI.
How would that work with today's push to start?

His third offense was a DUI. He fell asleep at a red light in the left turn lane of an intersection.

First offense the company put him thru rehab, but he lost his CDL for a year.
He had to work 2 part-time hub shifts for that year.
The second DUI he was forced to retire.

He would get off work at 12:30 am and hit the bar 5 nights a week.
Then he would double fist Turkey and Coke in one hand and Genuine Draft in the other until they kicked him out at 2:00 am.
We tired to intervene but he wouldn't have it.

 

It's a Jeep thing. You wouldn't understand.

I don't currently have enough traps for my shed, garage, around my garbage bins and inside my vehicles.

 

I can't speak for @Cpl_Punishment , but I'm a voracious reader. I usually have 2 or 3 books on the go plus an audio book. I was also done grade 12 English by the middle of grade 11. Grasp of the English language is natural for me. Math on the other hand...

I still refuse to add the letter U to words like color and neighbor though.

 

I typically only read one book at a time but I always have one on the go and I read every day.

I did well enough on my English Language and Composition AP exam in high school that I was able to use it for credit for the English course I was supposed to take in university. Not that engineers are known for their English language skills, mind you.

 

So frustrating.

This has been the only problem in years thankfully.
Need to keep an eye on the Sequoia though, since it lives outside now

 

Yup, my sister (64) has 2 adult daughters around 12 years apart.
A one time or another both have been in jail for drugs and they both had kids when they were in jail..

Her youngest daughter (I guess in her 30s) is serving time in a Federal prison in Illinois and has 2 kids, 4 and 7.
My sister is currently raising the kids, it's either that or they would be in foster care.

I know it happens probably more than I'd like to think, but how can anyone choose drugs or alcohol over raising their kids?
I can't even fathom it.

Thank God my kids missed the addiction gene that runs in my Mom's side of the family.
I did my share of stuff when I was younger, but I've been consistently employed somewhere since I was 14..
