Hi, I've got a 2024 1794 and have added a Bakflip MX4, this is my first truck so I do not have much experience with securing loads in the bed, only a few times when I have helped friends move in their trucks years ago with bungee chords.

Tomorrow I need to transport a few boxes that are about 3 inches too tall to fit under the bed cover, I will need to fold it up. What kind of straps or accessories do you all usually use to tie or strap down things in the bed to make sure they don't go flying out? These boxes are 15 - 30 pounds and would maybe be safe at highway speeds but I do not want to chance it.

I know I got a bag of attachments from the dealer to go with the bed, guess it is time I finally read that section of the owner's manual.

    Thanks in advance!

15-30 pound box shouldn't jump out from your bed. Just make sure it won't be sliding around your bed so it won't have a chance to get some speed, fly up and hop out of your bed when you're doing that sharp turn at 55mph

Ratchet straps. I also added D rings to all of the bed bolts per posts in another thread, they have been great for securing things.

If it’s close like that I usually unflip my trifold hard cover and let it ride on top of whatever is in the bed then use bungee cords at each of the back corners to hold down. Simple and effective.

Thanks everyone! I am buying some ratchet straps just to be safe for the boxes and since I'll have those I can later haul a couch to the dump with more piece of mind.
