Hi, I’m new here and hope someone can clue me in on a brake light problem.
I have a 2006 Tundra with the access cab, 8 cyl. engine with 190,000 miles. I recently noticed both brake lights don’t work. All other lights do work. I’ve checked and swapped fuses, checked bulbs, and had the pedal switch out and tested it. At this point I’m thinking it is a bad wire somewhere or a bad relay. Does anyone know if there is a relay after the pedal switch and where it would be located?
If it is not a bad relay, would it be easier to run a new wire instead of trying to find a bad spot in the harness? Thanks for any advice. Scott

Okay, first an apology. After posting my question I dug into the wiring diagrams and found there is a brake light relay. Sorry for being lazy and not checking first. Haven’t pulled the relay yet but will update this when I do. Thanks.

My brake lights are working again. It was the switch on the pedal. I had that out and tested it more than once with a multimeter and it seemed good. Anyway, a shop down the road replaced it so I’m lit up in the rear when stopping.
I hope to keep this truck going another 100,000 miles so will most likely be back looking for more answers. Thanks
