So right after I got my truck I ordered up the eibach pro truck 2 coilover kit. Installed them at the setting they came at which I think is close to max 2- 1/2”ish height. Stock UCA and 35x11.5x17 E load tires. I think the previous owner installed heavy duty leaf springs but I am not sure about that.

So all that being said my truck rides kind of like shit. It definetly rode better with the crappy replacement struts he had put in place of the worn out OEMs. It’s bad enough that people in the passenger seat at highway speeds have a hard time typing messages on their phone.

Anyone else have issues with something like this? If so what did you do to help the ride? Better UCA or maybe lowering the ride height?

What's your hub to fender height? Compare that to the picture below taken from this thread: https://www.tundras.com/threads/true-ride-height.18407/#post-1537744

The E range tires aren't helping, but I wouldn't think it'd change it that much. I theorize you might have the suspension overly lifted so no down travel making it ride bad. I had the Eibachs and thought they rode really well, about the same as my Kings in most cases.

    ^ What he said.

2.5” of lift on stock UCA’s could cause some issues. Also, what is your tire pressure?

Two nice things about the Eibach coilovers: you can turn the height down easily without disassembling the coilover, and you can swap springs easily for a different rate 16x3 coil. The kit should come with 650lb/in but you could conceivably go down to 600 lb/in. But if you want max height, you may be loading the existing 650 lb/in coil too much causing a harsh ride. I believe Eibach cautions 95mm of maximum thread exposed when raising the front end.

Posy some pics of the spring pack and the CO setup.

I had a similar situation when I put eibach 2.0 on my tacoma. It was crazy harsh. I had to crank it almost all the way down to get it to feel somewhat better. Still stiff, but not as jarring. I was almost all the way down on them, but still got over 3" of lift out of it. Try that. It's easy enough to adjust them.

So rough measurement this morning of hub to fender - driver side was 23” and passenger 23-1/4”. Snapped a quick pic of the coilover threads too.

I put the Eibach Pro Truck Coilover 2.0 on my GX470 and it's pretty damn smooth. But I think it was only at 1, maybe 2" preload at max when I installed them. But I also installed their adjustable upper control arm at the same time.

Also, have you gotten an alignment after installing the coilovers? I've noticed that it actually does make a difference in ride quality after swapping out the suspension parts...

Yes I have a printout and it was all green. This is part of the reason I’m thinking new UCA. I’ve read if they are maxed out on camber and don’t have adjustable caster it can make it a little squirely handling
