    If wrong thread lmk.

I have a 1st gen White DC. The hood has some chips and is beginning to rust. I plan to eventually put a light bar/pods/floods on the roof, and I’m sure the white gloss will glare really bad. I want to Matte the hood, just not sure what color. Want some opinions. TIA

Personally, I would go with a matte black / vinyl type on the white. It’ll help eliminate the glare and look good

Some guys did that on the t4r trails with the hood scoop. I just tint my windshields. Not only would that help glare from your lights but on coming ones as well. I personally wouldn’t do matte black on a white truck. Our type S is ceramic, the tundra and t4r are normal tint, 50% on each windshield.

The t4r looks darker because the rest of the truck was 15%. The tundra and type s are 35% other than the windshield.

The hood blackout looks great after a week in Arizona. :D

The one I purchased won't help if your rock chips are on the front of the hood. You could wrap the entire thing instead.

That’s what I was thinking of doing. I do like how the deflector looks though, may add one for cosmetics.

I used to live in Utah, so you’re in my neck of the woods (sorta). Miss the desert. In Florida now

I know it's an old thread but I'm wanting to do the exact same hood vinyl, where'd you buy yours?

I think there is zero chance I could cut it perfectly straight myself. If you want to wrap the entire hood that is different. Also, have a second set of hands to help you install. It will make it a lot easier. Buy the felt squeegee too.
