Hey y'all. Just upgraded my trusty 2005 tacoma to a 2017 MGM 1794. Nicknamed Baylan because it's gray and I got it on star wars day. Looking forward to spending way too much money on this thing. Cheers

Nice winch install on that Tacoma. Going to copy for the Tundra? I like clean.

 

Thanks. I am keeping that winch, so I am going to look for a hidden mount. The guy that I got the tacoma mount from doesn't make them for 2nd gen tundras yet. I might go with the semi hidden, steel half bumper. They look pretty clean too. And there are a lot of options available.

 

Somewhere on the front bumper page of 2nd gen Tundras someone pulled the middle plastic cover and cut the factory crossmember
hidden there. Then welded in a winch plate identical to how the Tacoma is. When I saw that I only had my 2wd '07 Tundra.
Now that I've got a newer 2010 4wd I'm going to go back and find that. It was very strong, directly tied onto the frame horns.
Looked identical to that. BTW, what model / type winch is that? I have a longtime trust in Warn after almost 40 yrs of flawless reliability. But I do have a Runva on the rear of my 60 series land cruiser.

This is nice. Not the same one but certainly worth a look.

 

That's exactly how mine is set up. I used an XBull 13.5k winch, that had the really awesome magnetic integrated fairlead and hook, which kept the whole thing even cleaner.
