Sorry, but I have to vent a little. I have been dealing with my brakes squealing since about 1200 miles on the truck. I have had it in 4 times and keep being told, what many I have read on here and other threads, have been told "Toyota knows about it and is working on a solution." Sounds like a canned statement put out by Toyota as a way to ignore the issue, but I was also wondering if anybody has had any luck getting the brakes fixed. Mine are getting worse at 12,000 miles. I have written Toyota's complaint line and haven't heard anything from them. As many complaints as there are and it seems they are being ignored, I am starting to look for a class action lawsuit from someone or somewhere. I get those things in the mail all the time so am a little surprised I haven't received anything on this one yet. These are expensive vehicles and shouldn't have something so basic as brakes causing so many problems and Toyota not having a fix in place by now is a little ridiculous. In my mind this is a safety issue as well. Squeaking brakes are a sign the brakes need replaced, so since they are always squealing the warning signs may be ignored and lead to a failure/accident(s).

Count me in as a Tundra owner who would love to find some way to get Toyota to handle this.

Keep getting the same old “we know about but there’s no fix yet” from the dealership. Although one service manager suggested I get it up to 70 on an empty stretch of road and hit the brakes hard. Said that might quiet the noise for a couple of weeks.

    this is ridiculous.

My brakes have screeched since we bought our '23 Tundra in Nov 23. Taken it in and recorded it to dealer 5 times. Wrote a letter to Toyota National and they called twice trying to appease me. Gave me a case number. The dealers know National will not fix it because the brakes still work. A lawyer could start a class action suit and show it is hard on people with hearing aids and masks the squeak when it needs pads. I live in the San Antonio area and if you know a lawyer who will take it on, let me know. Other forums have recordings of the squeak. Thanks

    Posted this in another thread

Had same issue with a 2023 Platinum. The squealing had become unbearable and embarassing.

Every time I’ve taken it in for service, I’ve reminded them it’s an issue. The last time I took it in, service guy said he thought there was a fix now and that they had to order parts. I kinda doubted it and figured they just wanted to shut me up, lol.

Much to my surprise, got a call today that the parts were in! They changed out the front rotors, pads and shim kits on the brakes. Shows covered under warranty.

Fingers crossed this fixes the issue and that more dealerships start fixing this. My dealer is here in Houston.

And I thought I was the only one. More embarrassing than anything else. And doesn't always do it which is weird

Chris (djmeen), I see you had the dealer replace your rotors, pads and shims as a warranty. Could you let us know your dealer so we can inform ours of the fix? Perhaps the two dealers can talk and get this screeching stopped. I am in the Hill Country about 35 miles west of San Antonio and have a 2023 Tundra that has been screeching its brakes since I bought it new in November. Thanks. If no fix, perhaps someone knows a lawyer who will take on a class action suit. Thank, Marvin
