Depends on what you want to do with your internet. For general browsing/video streaming what you have is more than enough. Where you might like the higher speeds is downloading large files which most people don't do very often. Only real example I have, for home internet, where I will download multiple large files is saving movies or TV shows to a tablet if I travel. Also widely accepted if you game at all that Xfinity is pretty much garbage. Getting a quarter of the speed you are paying for is a tough one even though what you are getting is plenty fast.

I am also on Xfinity and I think the plan is 600 down... (this is a ethernet wired desktop)

There is a deep rabbit hole that you could go down to figure out why your WIFI connection is slower than it should be and I don't really have the knowledge to go there. Technically speaking WIFI should be able to deliver the full speed that your plan offers but in the real world it almost never does

 

My friend Billy and I were driving out to red dirt reservoir the other day and he was hauling ass down the road. I saw a sheep stuck in the fence so I smacked Billy in the arm, and I said hey pull over, we gotta help that sheep. Billy locked his brakes up and pulled to the side of the road. So I jumped out and ran over to the sheep and started fucking it. A few minutes later I'm screaming, hey Billy, get over here you gotta get a turn on this! Billy came over and looked me dead in the eyes and he said, man are you gonna make me stick my head in the fence like that?

 

Back a few years ago Comcast/Xfinity was notoriously horrible for having really noticeable peak times, where your internet would go to shit because everyone else was getting home from work and starting to load up the network. Not sure if they ever did anything to fix that but my home service has seemed more stable lately. My employer also has Comcast but it is a business line for whatever that's worth, and in that use case it is painful! I'm in a satellite office so I have to go over the internet to the home office to our server to access anything including large 3d models. It is hours of my week staring at the spinning wheel of annoyance wondering if all the work I just did is going to save or if I will have to do it again.

 

Anyone got one?

Agreed about the rabbit hole. Unless you are willing to spend a few bucks, then you won’t get what your provider offers. Plain and simple. It’s not fun nor enjoyable, however it’s the truth.
