Tundra paint starting to peal

My 2011 MGM tundra is a starting
to peal. The roof and the hood. I am thinking about wrapping the hood in a carbon fiber wrap. Any thoughts?

 

IMO repainting it would look better. That carbon fiber crap is for the rice cookers. What wheels are those?

I have the same problem, clear coat almost entirely peeled off the hood and roof is starting. My problem is the rest of the paint isnt exactly pristine either, so I kind of feel like I would just rather have the whole thing painted if im going to do it.

But my local dealer qouted $10k for a full repaint and I can buy a lot of other things for that money so I go back to just doing the hood and roof for now, and the entire thought process loops in circles and nothing gets done

 

What about flat black wrap?

I sprayed my hood and messed up bed sides with Napa color code match salsa red rattle can and 2k clear. Ome made spray booth with tarps. It's alright and matches the rest of the body with my crappy prep work.

 

Forgive my iPhone edit, but I think I like following the hood lines with the black wrap. Thoughts?

 

I think the wrap needs to go under the hood for a full wrap or it will peel. I thought of doing my hood wrapped in black. Are you diy or have someone do it.

 

You went to a Toyota dealer for a paint job quote? Did you try any reputable local shops?

 

A local shop will be doing it.

 

The dealer is the reputable local shop here lol. Its a very well known and respected dealer network. We basically dont have small shops. All the small mechanic types focus on ceramic coatings, vinyl wraps, and speciality car repair.

People wrap the center sections of hoods all the time and it looks nice! My bf's Tacoma has just the center wrapped matte black to help with sun glare. Looks really cool actually.

 

Good to know! As I saw a pic of the center hood and roof line black. Looked clean.
