So i found a 2013 white rock warrior for sale about a hour from my house , original owner 100k guy wants 14.5 for it , drive out there ready to grab it turned out it has some terrible bondo work on the bed and needs some body work interior is filthy but not bad shape frame is mint got him down to 12.5 but couldnt close the deal . Went back up there today got him down to 12 heres the issue , took the truck for a ride apparently its been sitting had the noisey lifter sound but cleared that up by slightly reving the engine for a few minutes …the brakes ! He said it needs brakes and rotors, pedal goes to the floor have to pump it to get the truck to stop then its fine til i need to brake again, the rotors all were rusty when i left out the lot and started to shine when i returned from the rode so i know the calipers aren't seized , could it be just worn pads and rotors or master cyclinder or booster or am i looking at a expensive abs unit. If i pump them woth the truck off there is a whoosh sound but they will pump up but the pedal doesnt get hard. Any help , i want the truck but dont want to blow a ton of money off the back chasing problems and having the body done and repainted

Body work im not concerned about i have a solid connection that is going to take care of that part for a decent price Its the mechanical part , im coming from a ford f250 to toyota because i cant stand always repairing the ford so i checked all the common stuff on the tundra and seems solid for 100k thats barley “broken in” right lol just not sure whats up with this brake situation dont want to get into a can of worms and need a abs unit and dealer computer or anything like that

Might be silly question. But did you check the brake fluid level?

Pass. Bad owner. No telling what you'll find once you dig further. Unless your really confident in your ability to assess and diagnose the existing problems, let er go. The body work alone would be a nogo for me. I know your saying it's not a concern, but it will be once you buy it.

Stay away. Owner hasn't taken care of the truck. What other things have been neglected?

Having a few big ticket things to do right off the bat on a used truck almost always means there will be more down the road.

PO didn’t take care of it = hard pass.

Fluid is right where it needs to be
Thibk ill have to pass and wait for something better the truck appealed to me because low miles around here these trucks with 100k are doing $20,000 +

I believe you’re making the right decision. The money you would have saved would have probably been spent on fixing the truck. Better off getting a higher mileage that was at least taken care better. That way you don’t have to put additional money or time into it and actually enjoy your new to you ride
