Recently put a diamondback hd cover on the bed so would love to be able to have a place on the corners to put items into, and was hoping to use the built in rails to add a static bin, preferably a Milwaukee packout open top bin.

Anyone got an idea how to accomplish this?

One option may be adding molle panels that mount with factory rail. I know Rago designs makes some along with a few others. It may require some additional brackets, but a mount like the versa crate from unbeaten path designs may work for what you are looking for. All the packout mounts I have seen for trucks mount them vertically which would not work for the crate.

I just ordered the Rago Fab bedside MOLLE panels and the unbeatenpath packout mounts. I’m was planning on using the packout organizers, not the open bin. I’ll post how it works out once it’s installed. Might give you an idea.

    Thanks,
I actually found someone who makes a small mount for the Toyota rail system for the rigid pro boxes.

    Same here !
I have a tonneau cover and left and right side swing cases. I do like the swing cases so the only area I really have to work with it forward of the wheel but aft of the tonneau cover drum.
I’ve tried many different types of accessories from Amazon and nothing has worked for my 2019 tundra.

I am considering modifying a known product

I've also been on the lookout for some time for means to carry detachable cases for various things. I'm learning that in general, the factory rails simply fail to meet my expectations.

My 24 SR5 is a general purpose truck. One day I'm throwing in all sorts of stuff where my goal is maximum space with no permanent fittings that can get damaged by errant loads, and then I want the ability to tie things down from hook attach points determines by the load itself. The next day it's groceries, or a road trip.
The rails simply aren't enough to hold things like modular toolboxes and the in bed panels are asking to get bent all to crap when I throw in a 2x4. I'm still on the lookout, but the best methods I've seen so far (I've been too busy to acquire and install anything) are l-tracks. I'd install a complete piece the full length directly below the existing rail, then sections forward and aft of the wheel wells nearer to the floor, and a few in the tailgate. You can get lots of attachments for l-tracks, including tie down, threaded studs, and lots more. A long time building airplanes taught me to appreciate the versatility of this system. Once the rails are in place, mounting plates and brackets/cleats like Oz-tech makes for MODbox or Stacktech will let me locate an easily removable plate to carry full or half sized boxes with my supplies. At least that's my plan for the moment. :)

Weihe designs makes a variety of accessories for a variety of boxes that some might fine useful. https://weihedesigns.squarespace.com/
    Oz-tech https://oz-tech.com/collections
US Cargo Control L-track (there are lots of other sources) https://www.uscargocontrol.com/collections/airline-straps-hardware
