IMG_5843.jpg IMG_5842.jpg IMG_6204.png Hey guys. I tried searching around for this but did not see anything.
I am planning to replace the crankshaft position sensor wire (while doing TB) and wanted to see if anyone on here has done it before.
I have the Standard Motor Products S1716 from rock auto.
I notice that the oem wiring has a red and green wire and then some exposed wire (ground?), and I’m just curious for any insight or if it’s savable without using the new wire. Lol

    TIA

Did you recently replace your timing belt? The wire is supposed to be secured to the driver side cam cover with a plastic clip. Recommend you buy the correct OEM Denso crank position sensor with the correct shielded wire. Trying to solder or use butt connectors is asking for misfires or no-start.

No, this will be a new to me truck. The timing belt is insanely cracked. But I am in the process of changing it out. I have purchased the correct denso sensor.
just looking on advice on how to replace the wires. I couldn’t find “oem” shielded wires. But maybe I didn’t look hard enough.
