I just installed the Truxedo Elevate FS bed cross bars on my truck and was looking to add some attachments. To my horror, greedy people in the industry charge between $7 - $14 dollars for a single track nut!! LITERALLY a 10 cent piece of equipment! So, I order a 3 foot long 3/4 inch x 1/8 inch bar off Amazon for $15. That's enough to make at least 24 track nuts. Within 15 minutes of it arriving, I successfully duplicated their track nut for about 75 cent or so. Use a #7 drill bit, then tap it for a 1/4 inch 20 bolt. Cut the bar with a jig saw and you can shoot those greedy turds the finger with a smile on your face! Once you have your tools out, you can make one of these in about 3 minutes each.
