2023 tundra rear sway bar issue

    Hey everyone!new to the forum but have lurked for a while.got a new 2023 tundra limited off-road with a 6in super lift with 35’s.went on first off road trip today on a trail that has some really solid flexing.not to far into the trip bent rear sway bar end link and popped it out of the socket.im wondering if anyone else has had this issue?maybe i need to get quick disconnects for the rear sway bar.pretty bummed this happened and would like to know why if anyone can shed some light!

    If you want to keep the flex you'll definitely have to disconnect the sway bar or remove it entirely. All the weight on that corner was being held by that link and that's why it failed. Sway bars aren't meant to hold that much weight especially when it's trying to hold it up off the ground.

    Dobinsons or Kings sells beefier sway bar links. It's one of the few things I replaced since I take mine off-roading. Someone else in this group bent couple of those also while offroading.

    My money is on the 6" Rough Country Lift caused this with the extensions for the sway bars likely introducing a lot more torque on the sway bar then OEM height. Think of grabbing that cheater bar and snapping a wrench....things get spicy when the lever arm gets long enough. After the 6" lift you're likely less capable off road articulation wise but you did gain clearance. Those big lift kits change all sorts of geometry and put a stress on components in a way that they were never designed to handle.

    Thank you guys for the input,I think ile just get away bar disconnects.this is my first tundra and first truck with a rear sway bar so it’s a learning process.if anyone has any other suggestions on this I may need please let me know!

    Oh ok the lead time is crazy long on them didn’t know fox picked them up. Hopefully more options soon. I’m in the market to upgrade mine !
