Curious what this thing I found on the side of the road is. It's about 6-7" wide, with two ~1.25" holes, and a split on either side of the holes to pinch it onto something. It's solid steel, and covered in grease. Looks almost like it could hold a heavy u-bolt in place or similar, tons of grease/dirt buildup so assuming automotive/industrial use. No markings I could find though.

It’s one side of a spring shackle from a commercial truck, and I’d go as far as to say a Kenworth or Peterbilt.

Odd that it still has the pinch bolts but nothing left of the spring pins , and odd that it was laying on the side of the highway.

Well hot damn, at least I got the purpose within a few inchest of actual purpose

I found it in an exceptionally chunky section of street in an old intown neighborhood. Best guess, it slipped off. Wonder how far the vehicle got before their leaf pack fell off?

It's hefty. It really could be an attitude adjuster.
