So I have a 2023 1794 Hybrid with the AVS(Tires are E- loads) and I just did my 1st long tow with it from Northern California down to San Diego and back

I tow a 30-foot travel trailer that weights between 7,100 to 7,300 pounds loaded. I used to tow this with my 2012 F-150 that was fully set up with, E load tires, Bilstein 5100s and Roadmaster rear suspension upgrade. This truck towed it nicely. I also towed the trailer once with my buddies 2015 F-250 Diesel.

This Tundra towed that trailer beautifully. The wind was no problem, and the Anti Sway(Andersen) on the trailer and truck reduced it to almost nothing. With big wind gust and Semis passing, I would only get one trailer bounce and the trailer would straiten right out. I had some horrible winds too on the 101 in an area that normally has bad winds. It dropped my MPG from 10-12 down to 7.9 MPG on that stretch of the road!!

The braking down hills and the Grape Vine is what impressed me the most. Down the Grape Vine, I only had to do 3 brake applications, slowing the rig down from 60 to 45 mph!!!

The ride and handling with the AVS was better than expected, too. No excessive bouncing, sway or harsh jolts!! The AVS suspension was what I was not completely sure about when I bought the truck, and it did better than hoped!!

The power with the Hybrid was almost effortless, which is what I expected.

I was unsure how well this Tundra would tow and it towed beyond my expectations!!

I think most 1/2 tons will similarly. There are exceptions like the F150 with the Heavy Duty Payload Package, and it'll tow closer to a Ram 2500 than any other 1/2 ton.

good post, I don’t toe that heavy but for what I do tow I found Toyota made some really nice improvements
