I own my own tire changer. I do not have a balancer. I've found it's just easier to take the tires to my local tire changer to have them balanced. I buy enough tires that they don't charge me for balancing. In addition I never get the "these tires are not approved for this vehicle" bull shit.

Drink a cup of coffee and the tires are balanced and placed right back into the bed of my truck.

If you check FBMP, you can often find used tire mounting machines for under $350.

He has 6 vehicles, 3 tandem axle trailers, a riding lawn mower and lives on gravel roads. He got his money's worth out of it in a hurry.

 

Might not be worth the investment for myself. 2 vehicles and a trailer. Just had new tires put on the truck after 4 years. Cost $108. So unable to justify the up front cost. It would be super bad ass to have on though.

 

Started the long (and expensive) road to chrome delete my 2021 limited. Installed an OEM color matched hood bulge, TRD pro grille, TSS sensor cover and surround which I got from Sparks.

Up next is flat black mirror caps which should arrive next week. Trying to decide what I want to do with the bumper caps. Leaning towards bumpershellz but considering possibly having the OEM caps wrapped. Looked at OEM replacement but I know I want to replace the door handles so trying to be reasonable on the total cost of deleting the exterior chrome.

 

Finally got some more done with the panels. All it does is rain. Also have the under-seat storage.

 

If you are wanting black end caps, you can hit them with etching primer and bedliner. I did plasti-dip then bedliner cause I wanted reversibility and wasn't sure if I wanted black with a little texture (I love the look and durability). Either way you are looking at roughly $70 and a little work (unless you already have bedliner on hand).

 

That's a good idea I need to look into more. I assume I'd just need to pull the bumper caps, clean and rough up with something like 80 grit sand paper, prime and then paint with the bedliner? I am leaning towards black bumper cpas just to breakup the white a bit. What primer and bedliner did you use? Would love to see how yours turned out if you have some pictures.

 

Since I used plasti-dip, I cleaned but didn't sand/scuff the chrome. All your answers should be addressed in my build. Let me know if you have more questions.

Yessir! Love tho Noco Boost. It will start almost anything.

 

replaced my lil holes in 2 spots and some wear on sides tri fold with new and laminx fog "covers" in yellow. so far very nice but cant wait to see output at night. btw last 2 pics are pics of replaced cover w 2 small slices on it. works great but tiny bit of water gets in and the wear. local sale only. dm me if interested

 

Looking at sliders/steps for my new-to-me '16 DC Limited and pretty sure I've read the multiple threads on the topic but raised a question.
I don't specifically NEED sliders, but I do like that they mount directly to the frame. Was all set to pull the trigger on a set of RB20's but mounting to the underside of the rocker panel bothers me. Seems to me that repetitively putting weight on the steps will act like a lever with the body mount point acting like the fulcrum. I can't see this ending well over time and since I'm usually one who keeps my vehicles for a very, very long time .... am I over thinking this and making it a bigger problem than it actually is?

 

Anyone have wheel spacers with stock TRD OR wheels?? Lifting soon and debating doing 1” or 1.25” spacers. Would love to see photos of both. Thanks!

 

My $0.02 - - I like those steps a lot, but mine are lower by at least 3", as are most steps, and so it makes it easier to get in the truck if you need that additional ease for any reason (like getting old). The fact that they bolt in where they bolt in isn't much of a concern unless you intend to abuse them or until you hit an obstacle that requires a slider. If the additional cost isn't a concern and style differences between steps and sliders isn't a concern, you're fine either way. If you're never off road, you probably don't need sliders.

 

finished up the center console rear power outlet mods- a dual USB and a new 12V cig plug.

 

Good input, thanks - yeah my offroading isn't nearly what it was when i had a Wrangler built up for Moab. The Tundra will see more than just dirt roads but no real rock crawling otherwise I wouldn't hesitate to spend the extra coin on actual sliders.

Is the ESP underseat storage worth the money? I want this because of how easy the install is, but for that price, I can make one out wood that is bigger for the half the cost.

 

I like having it. Looking back, I wish I spent more and got the metal locking boxes. But the install was more than I wanted to undertake (removing the seats and installing new brackets). Plus I don’t think the bins were as deep. Anyhow, if you can build it and get the dimension you want, more power to you. The brackets for the seats will get in your way and limit how much bigger you can make the boxes. I recommend going to ESP site and watching the install for the locking aluminum one. Then you can get more of a feel for how much space you will have. The plastic one looks good. Looks factory. Sad I had more storage in my Tacoma haha. But the backseat was way too small for the fam. The Crewmax is like a limo!

 

What is your wheel offset?

 

I have the 1.25" Spidertraxx with stock TRD rims with 295/70r18 which is basically 35x11.5 and it's about the perfect setup to me. Tires barely stick out past the fenders if at all. I'll get some pics tomorrow.
