Hey everyone! We're almost ready to release the window trims, but we need your help! We're currently looking for a small group of beta testers to try out the window trims. We'll sell them to you at 50% off the retail price. We just ask that you fill out a survey after you've completed the install. These parts are considered "pre-production", and we've gone as far as we possibly can without having access to a ton of trucks at the drop of a hat. So, while they aren't considered "ready to sell", they're still made with the same quality plastic you'd expect from us, but there is the possibility that there will be minor issues with the product.

Our size, though, does have its drawbacks, such as limited testing capabilities on a live truck. That's where you come in. We will be hand selected a few people. The exact number is going to be determined by the amount of each color we have that we determine are "good". The colors will be limited to "Gloss Black" and "Matte Black".

This beta test is meant for owners of the CrewMAX trim level. However, if you have a Double Cab and are interested in helping us out, please just respond below with what color you'd want! That data is still very valuable to us.

You would think that the OP is monitoring this and can provide an update.

 

They said in the post they'd be out of touch today, 4/10. Looking at what else they've said, I'm sure this is the product for the chrome around the bottom of the windows.

 

If your window is not whistling and if you don't have any wind noise, I wouldn't touch anything close that may be near your window seals!

That’s not how that’s supposed to work. The payment for pre production products is the feedback you get from the tester to take your product to market.

I wouldn’t pay for anything that isn’t 100% ready to go.

 

That's correct! We've been working on these for a while and they're basically ready for market. Our hope is that the feedback we hear is cricket chirping.

Hi I'm back! Yes, it's the area that @g6t9ed shared in the quoted post above.

Yeah, this was a bit of a challenge. Our parts usually employee some of the geometric shape of the area of application to help ensure adhesion, but with this one, we couldn't depend on that due to the lack varied surface area and not wanting to affect the window seals.

 

I would be down, going on a 3500 mile roadtrip next week with the new FWC.

 

While that long of a distance would be great for testing how well they'll stick over various speeds, we're making selections Monday and sending them out soon after. I'm not sure you'll get them in time.

We will be heading across BC, Alberta and Sask for a camping trip in May and changing these out would help me stop tossing my cookies whenever I look at the truck

I've had a set installed for about a week now that the guys at Ecological put on. Unfortunately I haven't been able to put too many miles on in that time, but so far so good with freeway speeds and some decent temperature swings.

I went with the gloss black and I think it looks much better than the chrome. I am curious to see how the matte black turns out as well.

 

We have had some wild weather recently mid-80 degree peaks to near freezing. Glad to see they're holding up! I'll be seeing you the same form that we're going to send to beta testers. You'll just ignore the "installation" section.

 

When will more beta testers be selected?

 

I went to the link to pull a photo for you and post is so this thread would make more sense and get you more interest. Just like the thread, no photos there either. Would post some in the OP.

 

Beta testers have been selected. Just ironing out a couple things before we release the emails.

We got an overwhelming amount of support, but sadly we could only choose 5 people.

 

I would love to test it out! I've been looking for these parts for the past couple of months! Also, I have 1794 in wind chill pearl.

 

We've made our selections and are sending out beta test kits in the next couple of days.

We got an overwhelming amount of highly qualified candidates! However, if you didn't receive email correspondence from us, then unfortunately, you were not selected. We We WILL be running a beta test for the mirror covers when we have those ready for testing. I want to encourage anyone who signed up for this one to sign up for that one too, when I post about it. You'll also receive an email letting you know about the beta test.

We're hoping it will be roughly a 1 month to 1.5 months before we have these fully launched. Hopefully sooner!

 

When these are available, hopefully in a couple of weeks, will you be able to fulfill all of the reservation orders that were placed on your website? I’m trying to be patient and noticed that another vendor has these available now. Thanks

It's been a little bit since our first batch went out. How do you guys like them?

 

I honestly forget they are even there. They make the truck look like it should have from the factory, and it's not until I see another Tundra with chrome trim that I remember how much better I like the way mine looks now!

Looks great with the MGM. I ended up with silver and think the Chrome looks OK with it, but had the they had an MGM in stock would have done this in a heartbeat.
