Graduated from 1972 Mercedes 280 SE 4.5. My first Toyota was a 1990 LS400. Next was a SC400 Coupe. Then an RX 350. All of which were the most reliable and pleasurable to drive vehicles I've ever owned. All basically high-end Toyotas.
Wife Darline's 2006 Celica Supra ragtop was her trade-in for a 2017 Sequoia Limited. We needed more passenger capacity - it was either a Suburban or Sequoia. No contest -we went with the Toyota. After a 30K miles service, my local dealer wanted it so bad - only 33K miles - that he cut me a smokin' deal on the new Tundra. The Capstone Edition. The Lexus of pickups? Back to comfort and style, which the Capstone has plenty of - but with a nod to the Northwest - just a bit more hauling cap, and with a hybrid turbo V-6. I don't miss the Sequoia's V- 8 muscle so badly with 437 HP and 583 ft/lb of torque on tap. Toyota took big leap of faith when they launched Lexus, but knew that dealer service and a corporate mission to excel in both manufacturing and customer relations would gain them not only a greater market share, but also a global reputation for customer satisfaction and world-class reliability for both marques.
What's next? Hmmm..... an all electric Capstone...the Tundra Capstone EV!

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! All electric? Why would Toyota go backwards?
