nothing wrong with Michelin AT. Do look at Michelin defender however for next time. Defender is the best tire Michelin makes.

Second on the Defenders, they're awesome. I was getting 14.5 mpg with 275/60r20 Falkens. Now with my 265/70r17 Defenders I'm getting 16.5 average, as high as 17.75 highway depending on speed.

Did it need a lift to accommodate 265/70?

Good question, no lift required, 100% stock. I previously had 275/60r20 Falken Wildpeaks and those were taller and wider and they still fit just fine after massaging the front mud guards with a heat gun, otherwise would rub slightly in reverse at full lock.

How do you think the 255s would do compares to the 275s? I’m looking for 275s but I’m only finding 255.
Do you think they will be as quiet as yours? I doubt the handling would be as good since it’s not as wide.

I use a tire size calculator to compare between tire sizes, for example: upload_2022-7-13_15-11-44.jpg

Road noise and handling differences may come down to personal opinion.

I know this is a little older post from Last summer but I just got a set of Ray 10s for a killer deal, dark bronze. Currently running a black rhino wheel with 275/70/18 Cooper AT3 XLT's and they are great. Was thinking of going up to a 285/75/18 Wildpeak AT3W and love the look of a AT tire but also am like man those 295/70/18 Michelin Defender LTX M/S are a great tire but look like a old man tire LOL. So idk what to get some spring. Probably going to try to sell my Black Rhino wheels with the AT3's on them but just don't know what to get. Not many options in a 285/75/18..... I do run a 275/70/18 General Grabber Artic LT in the winter on steel wheels so not having to worry about winter traction at all since I got a dedicated setup!

I sold my AT3W Wildpeaks because I don't offroad. I saved alot of unsprung weight by switching to the Michelins + SCS. Its very noticable just how heavy the AT3Ws are compared to the Michelins. YMMV.

Yeah I hear you. But the truck weighs 7200 lbs empty and I don't really want to put standard load tires on the truck....

    How are they holding up??

My 21 CM SX came with 255/70/18 Duellers. Ready for a new set. Sure, go big, or go home, but sadly i'm rarely offroad, it's a highway truck. Looking for "aggressive H/T"s if they exist, or Mild A/Ts that look more like an aggressive H/T. Makes no sense, right? Wanted to go 275/70/18 to fill out the wheel well but size, weight, MPGs a concern. I'm getting upwards of 18 MPG on a highway between MD and DC on a 45 mile commute. Thinking the 265/70/18s would be a good compromise. Any updates? Can you post a side shot?

No complaints. I only run them in the summer to protect the wheels from salt. Less than 15k miles on them but they're holding up well. Ride quality is good, no loud road noise or humming that I've noticed. Here's a side picture.
