Every evening after the kids are in bed, I tidy the kitchen, wash dishes, load and run the dishwasher, wash bottles and refill them with milk for the night's feeds, make coffee for the next day, do any laundry that needs washing or folding, put the toddler back to bed 7 times, shovel snow if required, empty garbages, etc. What does my wife do? Sit on the couch talking to her mom about how hard her life is, how tired she is and how she never gets any time for herself.

Oh yeah, that's the other good part.

I get up with the kids about 7. She sleeps until 9 or 10 and gets in a 2 hour afternoon nap. We go to bed at the same time and take turns getting up with the babies at night but she's the one who's always too tired to function.

Hold out for one that fits your style. Don't believe the hype about relationships taking so much work to function. Like @Azblue already said, you can have your cake and eat it too. And I love cake.

Yep, I wouldn't trade The Woman for anything. She's my best friend and teammate for life, even though we drive each other nuts sometimes.

 

Now I'm feeling guilty for whining about the 1% of the time she's not perfect.
