Added an ice fishing tent for our fair weather winter camps.
Nice warm place to cook and chill when the sun goes away.
    The dog eventually joined us.

Just saw a winnebago Ekko on the highway. The wife loved it. So may be the next vehicle once the tundra is paid off

    They start at only $215k.

Hard to stomach that price tag for a Ford ecoboost Transit chassis…

Im not a fan of RTTs. my situation is unique to me. 1. Im old and had a hard life, I don't want to climb a ladder. 2. I don't want to pick up my 100 pound dog and throw him in a tent. 3. not a fan of the idea of top heaviness.

I run a gazelle tent, and a few old school magellens. Gazelle is my favorite right now. Im looking into a gigantic core though.

Yeah I am getting close to the same mindset. Health issue taking my energy and strength away.

My setup the last two trips out. With camp kitchen in the brown gazelle sun room with wind screens

I like that a lot. I've been eyeing the gazelle gazebos/sun rooms or whatever they are called as a place for a covered kitchen. It also lets there be an established camp if I decide to take the truck anywhere, since the RTT goes with it.

If you have a pic of it, would you mind sharing something from the doorway of the sun room setup just so I can get an idea of total interior space? Also, what aluminum table is that?

Maybe not the best picture, but you can kind of see the 2 folding chairs and the kids pop up play tent in ours here:

How do you all like the Gazelle tents? I almost bought one but ended up buying a Coleman popup. Arrives tomorrow. Was a lot cheaper, and I intend to be able to sleep in the shell once I finish the build, so didnt want to put out the extra cash.

The warm tent was a way to keep her keen on winter camps and it worked.

The only issue I have had is the plastic hooks on the tent rain fly and the windscreens can snap in strong winds. when I emailed customer support about the rain fly they sent me two replacement rain flys. yeah 2... I advised them I was going to use some metal S hooks to make the repair.

Yikes. We saw a used similar one for around 40k. That is definitely in my ballpark

I feel that Gazelle makes the best tents, hands down. We have the 8-person version and I'd say the only downsides I could find is stuffing the thing back into the bag, the weight can be unwieldy, and the main entry area isn't zipped like the back area. If you have a CM, the length of the tent fits exactly the length the bed. The tent really does pop up quick. It takes longer staking it down than getting it up.

We couple ours with an Exped Megamat Duo and the REI double sleeping bag. Of course, as a tent, it doesn't have the greatest insulation and the bottom floor has a lifted velcro around the whole structure, but with the Ecoflow Wave 2, we noticed a significant difference in temp during the winters and summers. We also use Gazelle's footprint so we didn't have to really guess at finding the perfect footprint size.

I do want to get their gazebo that others have shown here but we're still figuring out how well the camper is working for us as well as finding the right awning to determine if we still want it.

I love them. They set up in 5 min and are big enough to walk around in. It's especially nice when the weather socks in and we end up stuck in the tent for most of the day. The build quality has been solid for us, no issues yet.

It did originally come from South Africa, but I am the second owner. Picked it up in Illinois of all places.
