2.5 gen non TRD to TRD Off Road parts list

I know there is buried somewhere a list of the parts the TRD has that the stock 4x4 does not. Can someone point me in the right direction? If I wanted to turn my non-TRD into a TRD offroad. After some thinking not sure if the Dobinson's kit is worth the extra money for my use tbh.

 

On my 17, the only difference was shocks, a flimsy skid plate (splash guard) and a couple stickers.

 

find someone like myself pulling their TRD OR shocks off to put on an aftermarket lift/skid. should be pretty affordable to buy takeoffs. but not sure how much gain there is to be had

 

I have a 2021 non TRD 4x4 my wife has a 2018 TRD Off Road. Her truck feels much smoother both off pavement (not surprised ) and it even handles better than mine on the road.

 

I will second that. The Bilsteins on the OR package are much better than the generic things that come on the non OR trucks.
And they last a long time!

 

Already said but only difference is the decals, shocks, skid plate and wheels

 

So there is not a sway bar or anything like that? So simply putting different shocks on it will give me the same feel while driving? Wow talk about paying for the name.

 

No, but as stated earlier the TRD offroad shocks will ride better. I test drove a TRD Sport before purchasing my Offroad and it had a much stiffer ride.

I put a sway bar on my Offroad…well worth the price of admission IMHO.

 

Took a quick peek at my wife’s truck and it has blue and yellow bilsteins. This is a trd off road truck. I do not see a trd sway bar. So guess it is simple as my truck has generic crappy shocks.

 

And no fuel tank skid, and no TRD wheels.

I’ve replaced everything that came on my TRD package except the wheels - it was $100 option on the Limited in 2017 and got rid of the 20” wheels.

 

TRD Sport received rear sway bar and TRD heavier front sway bar. Front sway is same diameter as standard, but they are substantially heavier.

 

I honestly felt bummed that I could not find a TRD Off Road Tundra. And when I could they were in a color I did not like and/or $6-10k more. With the help from the forums, now I feel that it was not such a bad thing. I can get a really sweet setup for less then that extra 6 to 10k more. Even if I go with a modest shock upgrade it will be better. Just no skid plate or decal.

how i feel about the pro. rather have a 1794 or platinum since i'd be upgrading the wheels suspension and skids anyways

 

I have my rear bilsteins off of my trd off road limited 2019. I took them off at 38k miles. I have them listed locally for 50 bucks. I’m in El Paso Texas so I’m sure shipping would be ridiculous for you though.
