I had another thread that got a lot of helpful input in the first gen section, I'd like to get a bit more on a "non-1st" vehicle....

On this car, I want it to be quiet on the highway. The carpet is already out, the headliner needs to be replaced anyways. Door panels will be coming off anyways. The engine compartment is almost bare of everything and is getting repainted, so sound deadener at firewall is certainly easier. The old 430 ci engine is out and plan is to put in an F150 5.0 coyote donor. I'll probably build 3" SS dual exhaust, or possibly join for a 4" single out.

Also there seems to be some sort of compartment/space in the floor area under the rear bench seat that I may be able to install speakers in, but I haven't dug into that too much yet. If possible maybe install 6x5" speakers in that plenum.

I drive 3+ hours on straight highway from where I live a few times a year, and would like to summer drive to work occasionally. (speed limit is 110km/hr but most traffic does about 125km/hr 77MPH without too much worry of getting traffic tickets)

Looking for input on layering sound deadener materials on the interior. Plan on using some of the rolled roofing type stuff left over on less critical (behind rear bench seat and maybe rear floor) and then kilmat on the rest of the interior and above headliner as well as doors.

Would like to know about layering something overtop of kilmat or other in door panels?

Suggestions on products to use would be helpful.

Replacement carpet will be cut pile style. Be spending a bit more on quality speakers than in my 06 DC 4x4. The trunk is already 90% covered with butyl foil stuff.

66? I have one with same interior color and condition. When I did my Tundra I used secondskinaudio. I spent too many hours on their site researching the different levels of sound/ heat protection. what else are you going to do? What companies are you using?

I've used Second Skin on the last few pickups as well, great product and affordable. My tundra has a layer of Second Skin on body panels, with MLV under the carpet and door panels, it works great!

It's a 62 (hard to tell from the picture) in Riviera Torquiose I believe the color is.

Up in Calgary the shipping hurts for a lot of stuff. Imagine adding 25-40% on top of your orders for custom/shipping, but some stuff like Kilmat or the Amazon house brand sound deadener is fairly inexpensive.

I don't have brand preferences other than looking at what the total is with shipping/brokerage.

What else am I doing with it...

    Convert hubs to 5x120 pattern,
    Lexus LS600h rotors front
    Aluminum lexus calipers front
BMW 525i front discs and aluminum calipers out back
4/3 link rear (upper wishbone probably)
Probably the aluminum center speedway ford 9" housing.
    Boss air bags front back
    Accuair E-level
    3/4hp puma / pacbrake compresor
coyote 5.0 out of an f-150 with auto (want to use regular gas)
maybe a tacoma rack and pinion (sounds small, until you remember wheel size, tacoma can handle 33's 35's and maybe 37's, and the coyote is aluminum)
    SS exhaust, 3" dual maybe.
    paint (later)
    upholstery to be replaced
    new carpet and headliner
trunk is deadened and will receive new carpet and side panels.
    Upgrade/replace stereo
    rear camera probably
either 20" or 22" wheels, want to go at least 305 wide in back, maybe as wide as 325.

Been working on cleaning out engine compartment for primer paint, and removing interior / mouse nests under dash. Maybe pull front hubs for redrilling this week or weekend and hopefully get the engine compartment primered and maybe painted.
