Are the rear quarter panels on the 3rd Gen aluminum?

Need to know if I need to fix this to prevent rust or not



Magnet doesn’t stick to it, the hood or the doors but it does stick to the front quarter panel.

Am I in the clear?

I think you are good. The bed panels are made of aluminum. Bed itself is composite.

Easiest way to know if it's aluminum or steel, take a magnet to it. If it sticks, steel. If it doesn't, aluminum.

 

On the crewmax it goes aluminum then steel alternating by panel. Hood, front fender, front doors, rear doors, bed sides then the tailgate breaks the pattern as it’s aluminum as well

 

Time for some checker plating glued to the fenders! I did that with my Samurai back in the day. Get the thinner stuff and you can cut it with some metal snips. Then using your 'glue" to attach it! Voila!

 

Put a plastic bad or rag between the magnet and the item tested. Paint scratches easily and regret can last a lifetime.

 

While I agree I don’t like scratches, I think this ship has already sailed
