    Hey All,

I purchased my first Tundra (2024 Crewmax Limited Hybrid)6 weeks ago. While the truck was very well optioned by the dealer, it did not have running boards on it. I had done some research beforehand and really liked the look of the TRD boards, so I requested to have them added at that time. When we pulled up the accessory manual to find the part # and order them, they were not listed in the catalog. The salesman and the parts manager decided at that time to order a pair from the 2023 catalog since they were able to find a part # there. A week later, I returned to the dealer to have them installed and was told that they wouldn’t fit as there were holes in a different location??? Does anyone else have any experience with this? Are the boards and mounting holes really different between the 23 and 24 model years? Their story was that MAYBE they were changed slightly and that Toyota hasn’t released the 24 ones for the accessory catalog and that their current inventory is being saved for factory installation. Sounded like 100% speculation and 0% substance. The other theory was that there were different boards for gas vs. hybrid…I’m not sure why any of this information would’ve been difficult for the parts department to sort out , but…

The TRD boards are currently available as an optional accessory when building a 2024 on the Toyota website, and I’ve seen a handful of new hybrid trucks with them on dealer lots in the area, but just like at the dealership, if I use an online Toyota catalog at home, the only running boards available are the silver tubular ones that would look :anonymous: on a Lunar Rock-midnight edition w/ everything blacked out.

I spoke to my salesman today, but he had no updates on availability. Just looking for any insight if anyone else has run into this issue and can educate me.

    Thank you!

    Jason

Might be a difference between the hybrid and non-hybrid, but not sure. Why not just order them yourself off sparks or some other website and install them? They are super easy install and than you don’t have to deals with the dealer.

I just installed these on my 24 Limited CrewMax non-hybrid. I wonder what part number the dealer ordered. My part number was the same as above. PT767-34220. Do not order the bolts as they are already on the truck. Its super easy to install. Took maybe 30-45min. Here is a link to the install instructions. BTW the box/instructions will say D-Cab but that is what Toyota calls the CrewMax.

Yeah, I noticed the same thing. I ordered the predator steps, but had to double check the part # when I ordered them. Toyota seems to have the part descriptions backwards. The ones labeled C-cab are actually for the double cab and the D-cab are for the crew max.

Thanks for the info. I was struggling to figure out #1) How the parts department could have ordered the wrong part with the Vin# readily available…#2) How the self-proclaimed “Toyota certified master technician with a decade of experience” couldn’t have identified that he potentially had the wrong boards vs. concluding that Toyota had changed the mounting holes…#3) How we can all see that they are available to order through Sparks Toyota, but this dealer can’t seem to figure out what they need to order and continue to drop the ball.
I kind of suspected I was dealing with some incompetence on their end. I was just looking to confirm with someone who had actually installed the boards that they are indeed the same for 22-24, and that the hybrid boards are no different as Sparks and other catalogs indicate.
    Thank you for your help!!

Had the same problem regarding my sales person not knowing how to find them. Ordered them through BAM whole sale (part number PT767-34220) and they fit fine on my ‘24 hybrid.

I called the parts department today armed with all of the evidence provided here…I had the parts guy look up the part# that had been ordered in February and it was actually the correct one. All I can figure is that the wrong part was in a mislabeled box from Toyota…OR the “certified master technician” didn’t confirm that he had the correct part to begin with before trying to install them…OR RIGHT and LEFT got too confusing.;)
We’re ordering another pair and going to hopefully give this a try again next week.:fingerscrossed:

IMG_3232.jpg IMG_3231.jpg UPDATE: Dealer’s 2nd attempt at ordering the correct boards worked out. Spoke to the salesman today and he was all too eager to share that a C-cab is a double cab and a D-cab is a crewmax. Pretty sure he ordered the wrong ones and didn’t want to admit it.

Thank you all for your assistance in making sense of a confusing situation! Lesson learned…If I want to get an expert opinion, I’ll search here first before I waste time at the dealership.
